"King of Cool" by US-based artist Suave Gonzalez, an expressive acrylic on canvas portrait depicting a distinguished man wearing a wide-brimmed hat and dark sunglasses, confidently smoking a cigar with wisps of smoke drifting against a dark background. Rich amber, orange, and brown tones highlight dramatic brushwork, exuding effortless swagger and timeless cool. A striking figurative painting presented by Morton Contemporary Gallery.

Through his colorfully confrontational pop portraiture and street artwork, Philadelphia's PULITZER PRIZE WINNING social activist and PAINTER, Suave Gonzalez, proves the political power of art. While serving a 31year prison term, Gonzalez not only taught himself how to paint using acrylic, oil, pen, pencil, and other mixed media (including coffee grounds, glass, and paint chips from the prison walls), but created from within prison more than 50 extraordinary murals for the City of Philadelphia through the acclaimed Mural Arts Program
